Why We're Introducing a Return Fee for UK Orders

At Loop Cashmere, we care deeply about our customers and want every purchase to be easy and seamless. That’s why we’ve always offered free delivery on UK orders over £70 (and we will continue to do so) - and free returns as well, until now.

However, starting October 1st 2025, we will be introducing a £2.95 return cost for all UK orders returned for a refund. This cost will be deducted from your refund amount unless you choose to exchange the item, in which case returns will remain free for all orders over £70. Please note that this change does not affect overseas orders, where customers already cover the cost of returns.

We wanted to take a moment to explain why this change is (unfortunately) necessary—and why it’s a step that helps us continue offering the quality and service you love.

Why Returns Matter (and Why They Hurt Small Businesses)

Returns are a significant challenge for small fashion businesses. In the UK alone, fashion returns cost the industry £7 billion annually, with 30% of online fashion purchases being returned (source: Just Style). For a small brand like ours, absorbing these costs can limit what we can offer and slow down our ability to grow sustainably.

There’s also a growing issue of returns fraud, which costs UK retailers £1.3 billion a year (Source: Fashion United). While most customers are honest, these practices still impact small brands like ours more than big retailers.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

The environmental impact of returns is another critical factor. In 2022, returns contributed to 750,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in the UK alone (source: HSBC Commercial Banking).

By introducing a return fee, we aim to encourage more thoughtful purchasing decisions, reducing unnecessary returns and their associated environmental impact.

What This Means for You

We want to be clear: this change does not affect free delivery on UK orders over £70, and returns for exchanges will remain free as well for all orders above £70. The £2.95 return fee only applies to product returned for a refund on UK orders.
